
The CABES/RESPIN First West Africa Sub-Regional Workshop, hosted by the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), took place from 3–5 December 2025 in Lomé, Togo, under the theme “Towards Integrated Policies: Leveraging IPBES and IPCC Outcomes to Align Biodiversity and Climate Actions.”
The workshop convened 110 participants from 30 countries across Africa and Europe, including National Focal Points of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), as well as representatives from government institutions, academia, non-governmental organisations, Indigenous communities, and students from SPIBES West Africa.
