The fifth CABES policy brief summarises the key outcomes of the first CABES Sub-Regional Workshop for East-Africa, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, (November 2023).
The sessions explored how IPBES assessments, specifically the new Invasive Alien Species and their controls (IAS), along with the Nature Futures Framework (NFF), can guide national biodiversity planning and policy.
It was also discussed how these tools can support the review of NBSAPs and help drive progress toward the UN CBD Mission for 2030 and the Vision for 2050, where biodiversity is protected and restored, ecosystems remain healthy, and people continue to benefit from the services they provide.
