The second CABES policy brief summarises the outcomes and recommendations from the first CABES Central Africa Stakeholder Workshop, held online on September 8th 2022. Focus was put on understanding the reasons for the weak participation of African stakeholders in processes of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), such as its assessments and policy recommendations. The identified barriers to participation include a lack of cross-sectoral collaboration and limited knowledge regarding the relevance of biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES) for human well-being.
