Capacity Development

CABES aims to develop capacities of decision makers and other target groups to support the implementation of political decisions on nature-based solutions, ecosystem-based adaptation approaches and sustainable use of natural resources. Amongst others, this is achieved by our CABES Capacity Development Programme (CCDP).

The programme will be delivered via our open source CABES Learning Portal and face-to-face courses as well as a ‘train the trainers’ component. It will enable participants to better engage with IPBES and will focus on the education of professionals, such as focal points, policy makers, advisors, entrepreneurs, and organisations working with indigenous and local knowledge holders.

Based on a needs assessment conducted in the beginning of the programme development, it is ensured that contents of the CCDP is relevant and interesting to the different target groups.
